Our family-owned business has involved in the extraction and processing of high-quality raw materials since 1921 .

Adolf Gottfried Tonwerke GmbH and Gottfried Feldspat GmbH are situated in  Großheirath, Germany, south of the city of Coburg.

The plant where our clays, chamottes, soapstone and ceramic bodies are extracted and prepared is located in Großheirath. Each year more than 100,000 tons of different raw materials are processed in different qualities for a wide range of applications. Gottfried ranges among the leading manufacturers of chamotte in Europe.

White-firing feldspathic sand, also referred to as pegmatite, is extracted and worked in Freihung/Thansüß, Germany, north-east of the city of Amberg.

To meet the increasing demands of our customers, we integrate high-quality raw materials from other suppliers in our product range.

Experienced engineers work in collaboration with our customers to develop raw material solutions and services made to measure.

Our company is certified in accordance with ISO 9001. The own laboratory guarantees high standards of product quality as well as compliance to agreed specifications.

Clay reserves in our deposits are safe for the next decades and we are able to guarantee security of supply.

We are committed to efficient and sustainable working processes; therefore we consider it a matter of course to integrate our mining facilities into the environment.

Gottfried offers clay, granulate and plastic elements for mineral sealing through its building materials division. It is possible to purchase compactable filling soil as well as excavated earth and building rubble for recycling.
